Christmas Music Has Arrived

Hi guys! I decided to make a post today instead of yesterday because I wanted to do something I haven't done in awhile; make a playlist post! And I wanted to do a Christmas one, but I figured people might get a little mad at me if I posted something Christmas related on Halloween, so I decided to wait a day. Every year I am always so excited to make it to November 1st because in my mind that is the first official day you can listen to Christmas music without judgement (sometimes I'll listen in July, but I always have to make my Spotify private first).

I love Christmas. It's one of my favorite times of the year, and Christmas music plays a huge part in that. So without further ado, I'm gonna show you my favorite Christmas songs. Let's get started (these aren't in any order by the way).

1. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas // Sam Smith

I love this song, so pretty much any version is going to be good for me. I almost put the Michael Bublé version of this track, but since he's going to be popping up a few times on this list, I thought against it. I love this cover though. Sam Smith has an incredible voice, so it's wonderful when he sings on a track that's stripped back and raw.

2. I'll Be Home For Christmas // Michael Bublé

3. Christmas Eve/Sarajevo // Trans-Siberian Orchestra

I know I said this list isn't in order, but if it was, this would be number one. I love this song. It's so powerful and intense. When I think of Christmas, I think of this tune.

4. Believe // Josh Groban

5. The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas) // Nat King Cole

This is another one of my standout favorites. When it comes to Christmas music, I love the classics. No one has a voice like Nat King Cole. He's iconic and synonymous with Christmas music.

6. It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas // Bing Crosby

7. Please Come Home For Christmas (Bells Will Be Ringing) // Kelly Clarkson

It's hard to make modern Christmas music popular, unless you're Mariah Carey or Michael Bublé, but I think Kelly Clarkson does a fantastic job. This song is not only popular, but I think it sums up the spirit of the season pretty well.

8. All I Want for Christmas Is You // Mariah Carey

9. Merry Christmas Darling // Carpenters

My father is responsible for why I love this song so much, as he always played the Carpenters for me as a child. The lyrics are beautiful, and Karen Carpenter's voice only adds to them. Probably one of my all time favorites as well.

10. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! // Dean Martin

11. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings // Barenaked Ladies ft. Sarah McLachlan

This track might be a bit of a curveball for some. It's definitely not on the radio as much as some of these other popular tracks are. I love it for it's uniqueness though. The juxtaposition between the voices, and the harmonies really make this song great.

12. Santa Claus is Comin' To Town // Frank Sinatra

13. Mary, Did You Know? // Pentatonix

I really need to stop saying a song is one of my favorites, but this one seriously is. Pentatonix have always impressed me with their vocals. Each member brings something different to the group, and all of them are showcased on this song.

14. A Holly Jolly Christmas // Burl Ives

15. White Christmas // Dean Martin

Dean Martin is another person who's known for their Christmas music. This song had to be on this list just for the mere fact that everyone on Christmas Eve will be singing this song with their fingers crossed.

16. Deck The Halls // Nat King Cole

17. It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year // Andy Williams

This song might be one of the most recognizable and popular Christmas songs. It's a great track though because of it's infectiousness. It makes you happy. It helps you get into the holiday spirit.

18. Carol of the Bells // Peter J. Wilhousky and John Williams

19. (There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays // Perry Como

This song makes you nostalgic for home, which is the worst because this is the first Christmas I won't be home for the holidays, but I digress. It's a wonderful and classic tune, and Perry Como is another late great.

20. Baby it's Cold Outside // Idina Menzel ft. Michael Bublé

If you want to take a listen to all of these songs and more, I made a Spotify playlist. Check it out and get yourself into the holiday spirit!
