James Bay

Lately I've been super obsessed with James Bay, so here's 15 reasons why you need to start obsessing too.

1. Hold Back the River is a fantastic, heart-wrenching, relatable, beautiful song. Listen to it.

2. His album "Chaos and the Calm" is full of amazing yet different songs. There is something for everybody.

3. His voice has this scratchy uniqueness that just adds to his amazing music.

4. He's not bad looking. (Not really a reason to listen to him, but still. He reminds me of Harry Styles a bit.)

5. His genre of indie and folk rock is really popular at the moment.

6. I love love love some of his lyrics. One of my faves is the second verse in the song "When We Were on Fire":Head down, heading underground feeling wasted
Cold to the bone, so alone I can taste it
                          Let's light it up
Streets are alive now, and everything's bracing
You're on my mind, running in my veins fueling the flame
                          Let's start it again

7. He plays the guitar, and writes his own music.

8. He was discovered on YouTube (Again not really a reason to listen to him, but who doesn't like an inspiring backstory?)

9. He can sing as good live as he can on the studio version.

10. He once covered the song "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys, and it was magical.

11. In the beginning of this year, he won the Critic's Choice Award at the Brits, so he must be doing something right.

12. "Best Fake Smile" is honestly the funnest song to jam to.

13. Come to think of it, I don't think there is one bad song on his record.

14. Did I mention he's quite good looking?

15. And last but not least, listen to James Bay's new record, because it is honestly one of my favorite albums of the year. It is a fantastic collection of sounds.
