Hozier's Debut Album

Hozier is an up and coming Irish musician that has lately been taking the world by storm. He first released his debut EP, Take Me to Church, in 2013 and a second EP, From Eden, earlier this year. Last month he finally released his debut album, Hozier. I first noticed Hozier when I heard his first single Take Me to Church. I immediately became obsessed with his haunting tone, and the passionate emotion that emanated from the song. After seeing his quality performance on SNL earlier this month, I was officially entranced. His new album did not let me down in the slightest. The singer-songwriter really lived up to his genre by writing songs with intense and heartfelt lyrics. The sound throughout the whole album is unique and just feels like a breath of new life. Out of all the singer-songwriters out right now, I feel that Hozier is one who is really owning up to his differences. This contrast is what makes Hozier so charming and interesting to listen to. I definitely think that this is one of the best albums of the year.

Key Tracks: "Take Me to Church", "Jackie and Wilson", "From Eden", "Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene"
